My heart lives in Kansas, where buffalo once roamed,
It has given me joy, this place I call my home,
From border to border its plains fun free
So much of God’s beauty in it to see.
The wonder of daybreak dawning a glow
To live in the plains of peace that I know.
Where from season to season God’s beauty is our reminder
That Kansas is a window of our Great God who is its creator.
So at Thanksgiving, I know I am blessed at each day’s start,
and Kansas lives always down deep in my heart.
